Academic Year Programme from HELC

Academic Year Programme

A course of 26 or more weeks designed for students of elementary level and above who want to study General English and / or take an internationally recognised English examination. Students join a General English Intensive class or a Cambridge Examination English preparation course.

If your level of English is intermediate or above we encourage you to do at least one Cambridge Examination English course during your stay. The courses cover the key skills required for First Certificate in English (FCE), Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) and the International English Testing Language System (IELTS).The course start dates below allow you to join a Cambridge examination English course if you want to.

The price of the Academic Year Programme includes one examination course during the 26 weeks. Please note, however, that the price of the Academic Year Programme does not include an examination fee of £140 per exam which should be paid at HELC.

If you want to go to a British university or college after your course finishes we will also give you advice and support in your application.

Each 26-week course contains a two-week break which provides students with a valuable opportunity to travel around the UK.

In 2008 there are three 26-week courses:

  • January 7 to July 4.
  • June 23 to December 19.
  • September 22, 2008 to March 20, 2009.

You can start an Academic Year Programme (AYP) on other dates, but these dates are better because they allow you to join an examination course during your stay.

Please contact us at english@helc.co.uk if you have any questions or require further information.
