Cambridge Examination English from HELC

Cambridge Examination English

All examination courses follow the same timetable as the General English Intensive course (30 lessons / 23¼ per week). All students enquiring about examinations courses must complete our online Placement Test and write a composition so that we can ensure you follow the best course for your level.

The courses are designed for students wanting to do Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE), and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The courses cover the key language, reading, listening, speaking, writing and examination skills necessary to pass the exams.

We have a good pass rate in examinations - 80 per cent of our students passed their chosen exam in 2008. Our teachers are experienced in teaching exam classes and work closely together under the guidance of our Examinations Co-ordinator . This ensures that you will have the best possible opportunity to succeed in your chosen examination.

If you need more than 12 weeks to prepare for an examination please consider our Academic Year Programme which also includes the price of one examination course. This will give you a good foundation in General English before you start your examination course.

In 2010 the course dates are:

Upper Intermediate (FCE) Level

  • January 4 to March 12 (10 weeks).
  • March 22 to June 11 (12 weeks).
  • September 20 to December 10 (12 weeks).
